Welcome to the Upper Elementary Website!
I am so happy to return to the classroom to work with such an amazing and talented group of 9-12 year olds this year. After a year of working on the administrative side of the school, it is refreshing to be a part of the learning process again. I spent my 13 year teaching career as a high school social studies and religion teacher in south central Los Angeles and an all-girls' high school in the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities. As rewarding as it was to be in the high school classroom, it is truly delightful to teach in a Montessori school with methods that I could only dream about utilizing in a traditional setting. I am hoping to take the best pedagogy from my career and combine it with the amazing Montessori principles I have learned in the past year.

Joining me on this journey are 12 amazing E2 children who bring smiles to my face everyday. I love each and every one of them! They truly are my family away from home. I am so blessed to have two of my three children in the school and enjoy sharing this experience with my wonderful husband who serves as elementary art teacher, custodian, and all around handy man at the school. Being a part of The Way of the Shepherd is truly a family adventure.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or thoughts. Partnering with parents makes teaching children so rewarding. I look forward to working with you this year!
